Desert Critters!

Brenda and Joanne Kelley, carrying cameras, sunscreen and water, visited the Desert Museum. We weren't fast enough to capture the hummingbirds and butterflies on camera, but fortunately some of the four and two legged creatures posed for us!

I'm glad we met the mountain lion at the museum, rather than in the Catalinas!

Same for the lone wolf, though he seemed a little drowsy in the heat and sunshine...

The prairie dog was a cheerful critter, and he watched our every move!

We had better luck with the plant life...no movement there, only colors and thorns!  Stand back, focus, shoot and look, but don't touch!

It's not ALL fun and games! Well.....almost all!

Vacations are exhausting!  Just ask Grace and Annie.

Grace spent hours perfecting her public relations skills...

and then hit the gym for some Tummy Time...look at those strong arms!

Annie worked just as hard;  soon they'll both be turning over!  Look out, world!

Rebecca and Manuel, however, set aside some of their daily duties and concentrated on vacation FUN!  The temperatures were in the 80's, the sky was blue, and Grandma and Grandpa were holding the babies!

Rebecca enjoyed lunch with the ladies....

a top notch pedicure....

and the gorgeous AZ sunsets  (complete with Manuel, the photographer!)

Manuel practiced his golf strokes....

and, in practice for his own retirement, took up bocce ball!  The ace team of Dick and Rebecca won two matches from Brenda and Manuel....the pundits declared that Manuel showed too much strength, and Brenda couldn't aim!  Oh well...

Mi Tierra was the scene of the last evening of Grace and Annie's incredible journey.  Auntie Susan and Uncle Dick joined the Spreigls and Dick and Brenda for dinner.  Salsa!  Salsa!

On Sunday morning, after packing the bathing suits and summer clothes, we headed to the airport.  Annie expressed her reluctance to return to winter by filling her diaper....and the rest of her clothes!  We stopped to rinse out her long pants...hopefully they'll dry before she lands in Minnesota!  Bare legs will be mighty cold in the north country!

Bye Bye Arizona!
