From Worst to First!

(May 22, 2007 -BB)Softball fans take heart! The last place team of 2006, the Harbor Porpoises, has climbed out of the cellar as the Sneaky Rutters of 2007 and claimed first place in the St. Paul Softball League. Was it only a name change that created the winning season? Or was it a re-inspired pitching staff, a few rookies that joined the line up, or was it plain old experience that lifted the spirits and the stats of this Tuesday night co-ed team?

Perhaps it was the addition of a long time retired pitcher, Richard, who worked hard to bring a slow pitch over the plate.

More than likely the extra energy has come from the good times and laughter that the Sneaky Rutters have come to expect from their Tuesday night outings.

Update 5/29/07! Once again the Sneaky Rutters have captured the hearts and the standings of the 2007 St. Paul slow pitch league! After a hotly contested and seriously intense game 5, the Sneaky Rutters, under the pitching of Fabulous Joe and the fielding of Jovial Jon, stand firmly in the #1 spot at 5-0! The distribution of team t shirts added to the festive mood at Gabe's in the Park as the Sneaky Rutters celebrated win number 5 and the birthday of Erin. Stay tuned to this blog for the future of the Sneaky Rutters!

Mother's Day Re-dux!

The Kruegers and Robertsons celebrated Mother's Day 2007 in grand style! For the 8th consecutive year, we gathered at the starting line of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and crossed the finish line in good time - and in good health.

The weather was perfect, the crowd was motivated. Almost 50,000 participants joined us as we celebrated 7+ years of Susan's cancer-free status.

The Marsh was the scene of our 8th annual brunch...a feast to behold! Missing this year were Ben and Caitlin, finishing out their term in Costa Rica, and Amy, who celebrated in London.

New to our team were Caitlin's mother, Pat, and her brother, Ned, as well as Manuel. All three of our rookies finished strong...both the race and the buffet!
